A town in the Poviat of Puławy upon the Kurówka River, well-known for the fur clothing industry. It has a historic urban design typical of small town architecture with 19th-century buildings of the commune office and an 18th-century parish school with Baroque and Classicist features, established by Father Grzegorz Piramowicz. At the parish cemetery there are numerous graves of victims of World War II and the tombstone of Jan Zdzitowiecki, an insurgent in the January Uprising.
